Our Story & Our Team
For over 30 years, Carers Trust Hillingdon has been a trusted partner for unpaid carers across Hillingdon — supporting people of all ages to live well alongside their caring role.
Who we are
A local charity making a difference every day
Carers Trust Hillingdon and Ealing is a local charity based in Uxbridge that operates support services for unpaid carers living or caring in the London Borough of Hillingdon. We work to improve support and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.
We support carers from as young as five years old and have a great range of support for children and young people who are caring in their formative years, as well as over 80 free services for adult carers. We are the lead organisation for the Hillingdon Carers Partnership, working closely with other charities that provide specialist support for carers.
"Carers Trust Hillingdon and Ealing and Hillingdon Carers Partnership will be recognised as the gateway to a better life for all unpaid carers in Hillingdon."
Our mission
What we are here to do
Recognising carers as essential partners
We strive to ensure that carers are recognised and valued for the care and support they provide — acknowledged as expert partners in care and respected as an integral part of the health and social care workforce in Hillingdon.
Supporting individual needs with safety and trust
Our support is tailored to meet individual needs, enabling carers of any age or background to balance their caring responsibilities and a life outside caring — safely and with confidence.
Expanding reach and strengthening collaboration
We grow our range of services and extend their reach across the borough, improving partnership-working and increasing collaborative projects to help make carers everybody's business.
Our values
What guides everything we do
Trust
We work as a trusted and collaborative partner, building genuine relationships with unpaid carers, partners and our supporters.
Integrity
We act with honesty and transparency, valuing the contribution of every individual involved in our work.
Inclusion
We are committed to equity and accessibility for all unpaid carers. We create safe, welcoming spaces where carers with diverse experiences feel they belong, are listened to, and are respected.
Courage
We will speak up and advocate for unpaid carers, challenging injustices and taking action to improve carers' lives.
Our commitment
Anti-Racist Statement
Carers Trust Hillingdon & Ealing are committed to becoming an anti-racist organisation in all aspects of our work — with unpaid carers and within our workforce. As a values-led organisation dedicated to improving the lived experiences of unpaid carers, we have a responsibility to confront racism with sustained and meaningful action.
As a learning organisation we will continue to challenge ourselves in our journey towards becoming anti-racist, with equity and fairness at the heart of everything we do.
Governance: Establishing an Anti-racist Executive Sub-Committee to strengthen our governance and help embed inclusive practices.
Culture & Systems: Embedding anti-racism in our culture, systems and services — continuously reviewing and developing our policies and practices to ensure they are inclusive and support racial equality.
Recruitment: Implementing diverse and inclusive recruitment at all levels through equality and diversity monitoring, improving recruitment and retention for people of colour.
Listening & Learning: Creating safe spaces for reflection, open communication and constructive feedback, centring the lived experiences of Black and ethnically diverse unpaid carers.

Our journey
Over 30 years of supporting carers
Carers Trust Hillingdon started life as Hillingdon Carers, a Carer Support group managed by Carers National Association (now Carers UK), with just two members of staff.
The team grew with a Development Officer, an Asian Carers Support Worker, an Administrator and a Bengali Support Worker — prompting a move from Belmont Road, Uxbridge to the current High Street location.
Young Carers Services were added to the organisation, with a dedicated Young Carers Support Worker joining the team.
The current Advice Centre — formerly a lighting and electrical shop — was officially opened by HRH Princess Anne, Patron of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
Rebranded to Carers Trust Hillingdon, becoming a network partner of the national Carers Trust charity. The team now has 19 staff.
We secured the contract to lead support services to adult carers as part of the Ealing Carers Partnership and changed our registered name to Carers Trust Hillingdon & Ealing.
Linda Andrew takes over as Chief Executive, leading the organisation into a new chapter of growth and impact.
